Join the growing ranks of G.I. Joe fans at the second annual Assembly Required Meet-Up, November 10, 2012 in Des Moines, IA. You’ll hard-to-find pieces for your collection, connect with fellow collectors from across the Midwest who share your passion, meet a renowned illustrator and more.
If you’d like to join the team of highly-trained men and women that make up the G.I. Joe Special Forces, enter the Custom Contest, the Kids’ Coloring Contest, the Giveaway Raffle and more. To ensure a successful mission, take time to familiarize yourself with the following intel:
Enter your G.I. Joe custom in one of three categories: 3 ¾ figures, 3 ¾ Vehicle/Playset and 12” figure. Entries will be limited to two customs per person and each must use at least 50% existing Joe parts. Entries must be submitted prior to 12 p.m. on the day of the Meet-Up. The winners will be announced at 6 p.m. Must be present to win.
Young artists who are Joe fans will love the coloring contest—coloring vintage Joe scenes from the pages of the 1980s ARAH series. Children ages 4-12 are eligible. First and second place prizes will be awarded.
Tables will be available for buying, selling and trading G.I. Joe items. You may purchase a table for $25, limit 2 per person/household. A number of tables have been purchased and a limited number are available. For more information, email us at hq@codenameiowa.com

Accomplished Marvel/IDW comic artist/Illustrator Ron Wagner will be signing and sketching at Assembly Required. Ron has been making his living as an artist for more than 20 years. He is a graduate of The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art in Dover, New Jersey. He has worked for major coming book companies such as Marvel Comics, D.C. Comics, Dark Horse and Image. He has drawn titles that include Batman, Superman, G.I. Joe, Punisher, Daredevil and The Flash.
Sneak a peek at arguably the best traveling “museum” of G.I. Joe toys as the Joe Declassified Convention Tour comes to Assembly Required. Joe Declassified is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to broaden the understanding of G.I. Joe for everyone from hardcore enthusiasts to casual fans. We do not meet on a regular basis at this time. However, as our community and the event grow, we will continue to evaluate and collect information should the need arise to meet more frequently.
